Used Construction Equipment Market Research Summary

Following another round of conversations with executives specifically focused on the used construction equipment market, two phrases come to mind: “holding pattern” and “no man’s land.”

Holding Pattern: As we noted a few months ago, despite all the uncertainty generated by the initial tariff announcements in April, expectations were pretty clear: demand would taper, new equipment prices would increase as OEMs passed along higher production costs, and used equipment prices would follow. Instead, demand remained stable, OEMs continued to incentivize new machine purchases, and used pricing was mostly stagnant. That remains the case.
