T-K-O Equipment Co. was founded in July 1978. T-K-O started primarily as a brokering agent and handled consignments from various clients, the vast majority of which were miners and contractors from Kansas and Oklahoma. Our company name reflects this initial customer base combined with our Texas roots. T-K-O maintains its headquarters in Grand Prairie, Texas with a fully staffed branch office in New Braunfels, Texas. T-K-O was able to be on the cutting edge of today’s phenomenon of renting and leasing heavy equipment. Today, T-K-O handles used construction machinery, 95% of which being Caterpillar equipment. We also now represent new crushing and screening products for KPI- JCI, Astec, and Eagle. Since becoming the dealer for these products, we have established ourselves as one of the leaders in the region in this market. T-K-O is active in a number of organizations in our industry. T-K-O belongs to the AGC of Texas. We were one of the first members of the Independent Equipment Dealers Association. Marlin Smith was the third president. T-K-O also belongs to the AED, Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association, and Texas Asphalt Pavement Association. T-K-O’s decades long reputation for readily available equipment, quality, and its can do attitude keeps its customers coming back.
