Privacy Policy
Privacy is of sincere importance to Independent Equipment Dealers Association ( “IEDA”). As a user of this web site (the “Site”), you are valued by the IEDA and we will take appropriate measures to protect any personally identifiable information provided by and collected from you on the Site in connection with our entity.
What Information Does the IEDA Collect About Site Visitors?
At our Site, we do not collect personally identifiable information from individuals unless they provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. IEDA only gathers personally identifiable data, such as names, addresses, zip/postal codes, and e-mail addresses when voluntarily submitted by a visitor.
There are three (3) categories of information that IEDA collects (or might collect):
- Information that Site Visitors Give Us:
We may receive and store the information that you enter at our website or however you would provide information about you. You can always choose not to provide some or all of the information which we request. This information may be used solely by IEDA and other entities (who comply with our Privacy Policy) in furtherance of the IEDA’s charitable activities. - Automatic Information:
Whenever you interact with the IEDA at our Site, we receive and store certain types of information connected to that interaction. For example, we presently do not make use of “cookies”, but should we do so in the future, then we may use “cookies” to obtain information when your web browser accesses this Site. A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier, which we transfer to your computer via your Web browser and store on your computer’s hard drive. On most web browsers you will find a “help” section on the toolbar. Please refer to this section for information on how to receive notification when you are receiving a new cookie, and how to turn cookies off. - Email Communications:
In order to make our email we send you more helpful and relevant to your interests, we receive and store certain types of information. For instance, if your computer supports this functionality and if we utilize the Site feature one day, we may receive a confirmation when you open an email we would have sent to you. We may also receive a confirmation when you follow a hyperlink from one of our future email messages (as like a newsletter) to our Site. If you would want to stop receiving such newsletter-email from us, you would be able to do so by simply replying and type “unsubscribe” in the subject field or contact us by email.
Does the IEDA Share the Information Collected?
We are not in the business of selling information about our Site visitors. We consider this information to be a vital part of our relationship with you and we treat it with great care and respect. We have no plan to “share” or sell information to anyone. There are, however, certain circumstances in which we may share your information with certain third parties. We would share personally identifiable information with third parties when (i) the person submitting the information gives authority to IEDA to share it; or (iii) we are required to by law.
Access to Information About You.
If you desire to review your own personal information, to correct existing information, or to remove your information, please contact the IEDA via email or by mail to our mailing address. If you request removal of your personal information, you acknowledge that residual information may continue to reside in the IEDA’s records and archives, but IEDA will not use that information for commercial purposes. The IEDA reserves the right to maintain your personal information if the IEDA has suspended, limited, or terminated your access to our website for violating the IEDA Terms of Use.
