Taking Care Of Business

James R. Waite, Esq.
James is a corporate and transactional attorney with over 25 years of experience in buying, selling and leasing businesses, equipment and real estate. He has served as general counsel, CEO, CFO and COO for companies ranging from airlines to equipment lessors. He wrote the American Rental Association’s book on rental contracts, writes Rental Management’s monthly “Legally Speaking” article, and routinely presents at industry association conferences. IEDA is proud to welcome Waite back to our Midyear Meeting program.

Jayme Bates
Jayme is chief executive officer of J.T. Bates Insurance Group, which specializes in risk management products for equipment dealers, rental companies and material handling equipment dealers. Dedicated to the equipment industry, she was instrumental in developing the company’s certificate management program, Straight|Docs Compliance Services, and its Rental Equipment Protection program. Jayme joined the family business in 2010 and served as vice president of operations prior to her promotion to CEO in 2018.

Elliott Vigil
With over 20 years selling in the equipment rental industry and with four years as a national sales trainer, Elliott brings a vast knowledge of sales that is a direct reflection of his practical experience. He was a top producing sales representative at United Rental for five years and the No. 1 producer at Ahern Rentals, where he averaged over $1 million in rental revenue per month and equipment sales in excess of 120 units per year for over five years. He has worked throughout all the major markets of the U.S. His bachelor’s degree in education and passion for the equipment industry makes his unique presentation style both entertaining to watch and extremely informative.

One of the great things about an IEDA live event is the opportunity to work ON your business rather than just IN the business — at the Midyear Meeting in Denver, three industry experts will deliver timely knowledge you can strategically apply the day you get back to your dealership.
What’s In It for Me? Our morning Business Program will include:
- 1) A “state of the industry” address along with important advice pertaining to legal sandpits, all designed to help you avoid dangerous recession-related business losses.
- 2) You’ll gain discernment about sales management in your company and how to recognize (and correct) a “crisis-style,” reactionary management mindset vs. proactive, true leadership.
- 3) We’ll unpack what’s happening in the insurance industry and what’s within your control to help restrain costs in an increasingly tight market.
