While the training and hiring initiative aims to attract workers to the industry, experts feel it misses the mark and features exclusionary policies that could make things worse. According to the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), the construction industry will need to attract nearly 650,000 additional workers on top of the normal pace of hiring in 2022 to meet the demand for labor.
